On October 10 the French American Victory Club, better known as The French Club of Waltham, celebrated its 65th anniversary with a dinner dance. The event was well attended. Past president Paul Ryan served as master of ceremonies. Mayor Jeannette McCarthy presented a proclamation from The City of Waltham. All past presidents and charter members were named - those present included: Paul Ryan, Leo Hebert, Cy Poirier, George Richard, Germain Leblanc and Gus Chaisson. Current president, Allan LeBlanc, was unable to attend. Both American and Canadian veterans were recognized, and the crowd sang God Bless America. Cy Doucet, Vice President, spoke on behalf of the club and recognized the recent officers for returning The French Club to its current level of success and membership. After a champagne toast and blessing, a delicious chicken dinner was served, followed by a homemade anniversary cake. Music was provided by the club's long time Saturday evening band, The Country Masters. It was a wonderful evening and a chance for old and new friends to meet. The French Club welcomes new members - please call (781) 899-8195 or visit our website www.favclub.org

WiFi Internet - Internet is now available at the French Club!

A computer with internet has been setup in the game area for member's use.  If you don't have a computer/internet at home, stop by at the club to do some web surfing.  And for those of you who have not visited the French Club website, here's your chance.

One of the great benefits of having the internet at the club is that members will be able to listen to many radio stations available from New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.  You will feel right at home while playing a game of cards or cribbage and listening to Acadian music.
